Focused Clinical Consultation
A working session on a specific product, workflow or implementation question, grounded in frontline practice.
I help health tech companies building products for clinicians find clinical and adoption risks early, before they become expensive rebuilds, failed implementations or stalled scale-up. I offer independent clinical insight on workflow integration, technology adoption and product strategy: identifying clinical friction points, testing how a product fits real workflows, and helping teams decide what to change before launch.
My perspective comes from eight years of frontline emergency nursing, perioperative care, and specialty work in fertility and medical aesthetics. I've been on the receiving end of technology rollouts myself, and I see every day how care teams adopt new tools or work around them.
Independent, project-based insight. No patient care or PHI access required.
The clinician using the tools, across emergency, perioperative and specialty clinic care
Designed and piloted an emergency department workflow that became unit policy

If clinicians have to adopt your product for it to succeed, a clinical perspective early on costs far less than fixing problems after launch.
Digital health platforms, clinical AI, EMRs, diagnostic technologies and other clinician-facing tools.
Hospitals, emergency departments, private and specialty clinics, and long-term care.
Before a pilot, when adoption stalls, and before scaling to new sites.
Start with a defined question, evaluate a workflow, decide where a product should go next, or add clinical perspective throughout a product or implementation cycle.
A working session on a specific product, workflow or implementation question, grounded in frontline practice.
A fixed-scope evaluation of clinical fit, adoption barriers and operational implications, with practical recommendations to fix them.
When a product will not be adopted as designed, a focused engagement to decide what to keep (the technology, the setting or the problem) and where to go next.
Ongoing, flexible input for teams making product, research, education and implementation decisions, without a full-time hire.
Gaps between product design and clinical practice don't stay small. Left alone, they turn into rebuilds, failed implementations, pilots that never convert and missed growth opportunities.
Fix adoption problems before the pilot decision, not after the contract is lost.
Know which features fit real workflows before engineering time is spent.
Find workflow conflicts before go-live, not from support tickets.
Clinical evidence and frontline language that help teams explain where their product fits to the health system buyers who decide.
A full sample Review of a fictional AI triage documentation tool. Its pilot started strong, then usage fell week after week. It shows how I assess workflow fit, adoption barriers and clinical risk, and what would recover the pilot before the decision.
Percentage of triage notes completed with the scribe each week
Illustrative example only. Fictional company, data and findings; not a completed client engagement.
Projects can be fixed-scope or ongoing. Fee and deliverables are agreed during scoping.
Clarify the product, target users and the decision to support.
Confirm focus, deliverables, timeline and fixed fee.
Review the experience through a clinical-practice lens.
Present prioritized findings, business impact and practical next steps.
I bring eight years of frontline emergency department nursing across four hospitals in two provinces, perioperative care in hospital and private clinic settings, specialty work in fertility and medical aesthetics, and earlier experience in long-term care. I know how care actually runs across these settings: triage, handoffs, surge, pre-op and recovery, clinic intake, documentation and the systems that hold it together. I work daily alongside physicians, nurses, allied health and clerical staff, so I see how clinical tools land for everyone who touches them.
Beyond clinical practice, I designed an emergency department workflow adopted as unit policy, contributed to published research, developed patient-facing digital education and taught college-level anatomy. I translate this mix of clinical, educational and operational experience into practical recommendations for health technology teams.
EMR experience: Cerner, Meditech, JaneApp and Fertility Pro
Designed and piloted a standardized patient-assignment workflow in a rural emergency department; it was adopted as unit policy.
Co-authored "Pathogenic Mechanisms of Uropathogens" in Springer's The Role of Bacteria in Urology (2nd ed., 2019), synthesizing clinical research into clear, accurate findings.
At Integra Medical, translated clinical research into patient-facing education and contributed to website navigation and UX.
Taught human anatomy at Fanshawe College and adapted complex content for multiple cohorts, including ESL learners.
Built an independent aesthetics client base and developed digital intake, consultation and documentation workflows.
